Ratchet & Clank: Insomniac Games Reveals New Protagonist’ Rivet’ in Gameplay Trailer

Insomniac Games Showcases their new Lombax, Rivet, in a new gameplay trailer and announces five armor suits plus 15 minutes of new gameplay.

Marcus Smith, Insomniac Games’ Creative Director, wrote, Monday, on the PlayStation Blog, “Yes! We finally revealed her name… you guessed it! Right?! Rivet is a Lombax resistance fighter from another dimension, where the evil Emperor Nefarious hunts all those who oppose him. You saw brand-new locations like Nefarious City, and alternate-dimension twists on old favorites like Sargasso and Torren IV along with a sneak-peak at some new weapons and gameplay mechanics.”

Smith wrote that Mark Mothersbaugh, co-founder of Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame nominated band DEVO, is the Composer of the Rift Apart soundtrack.

“You’ve likely heard his compositions across the years whether it was in the original three Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter games, as well as animated series like Rugrats, and the blockbuster film: Thor Ragnarok,” Smith wrote.

Smith also announced five armor suits that are exclusive to the Digital Deluxe Edition, “The Imperial, Scavenger, Android, Rebel, and Hacker suits all give you some distinct cosmetic looks to play with and mix-and-match as you play and take photos in Ratchet & Clank’s first-ever photo mode.”

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is PlayStation’s next State of Play, which is Thursday, April 29 at 2 p.m. Pacific / 5 p.m. Eastern airing on PlayStation Twitch and YouTube channels for more than 15 minutes of gameplay.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will arrive exclusively to PS5 on June 11, 2021.
