Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Takes Top Spot for June 2021; Cyberpunk 2077 No. 1 for PS4

The PlayStation Blog announced the top downloaded games for June 2021 on the PlayStation Network, with the PlayStation 5’s new exclusive Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart taking the top spot for PS5 in both the US/Canada and Europe lists.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart released June 11 with rave reviews from Metacritic (88%), IGN (9/10), and Eurogamer (4/5). IGN’s Jonathon Dornbush wrote, “Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a fantastic PS5 exclusive showpiece for the console’s power, and a delightful adventure in its own right.” Being the latest PlayStation Studios game and being a series that rarely fails its fans, it’s no surprise Rift Apart was on top.

Other chart-topping PS5 games include Chivalry 2, Guilty Gear Strive, and Scarlet Nexus, with Cyberpunk 2077 for PS4, Beat Saber for PS VR, and, to no astonishment, Fortnite for Free-to-Play.

Cyberpunk 2077 left the PlayStation Network online store after Sony delisted the game after many reported bugs on the base PS4 model. Now, Cyberpunk 2077 is back on PSN as of June 21, and both Sony and CD Projekt included a warning, “IMPORTANT NOTICE: Users continue to experience performance issues with this game. Purchase for use on PS4 systems is not recommended. For the best Cyberpunk experience on PlayStation, play on PS4 Pro and PS5 systems.” So, for those buying the game on PS5, all sales still count towards the PS4 list.
